USC’s Lincoln relay is felt as ‘refreshed’ because the pressure mounts to win

While the rest of the college football, the rest of the world killed summer into a frenzy, one of the changes on the game, one of the changes on the game, one of the spectators of the revenue sharing or the interference of the Congress or many other landscape-trans-changes, Lincoln relay was really able to move away and breathe.

In four years as the coach of the USC, the relay did not have many opportunities. In fact Unplaced. There was sprint before the first season, and the heavy portal was ahead of its second. The third came with a new conference, new defense, new expectations, new pressure.

Fourth, comparatively, more comfortable than the relay is starting on the note. His family had no phone calls for half a day of the holiday. His fly’s fishing became mostly unbalanced. He even golf on Pebal Beach in May.

Riley said on Thursday during Big Ten Media days, “I would say that I have been fresh and recharged because I am a long time.”

Never notice that the pressure to win the USC for the relay has probably never been so much, coming from a 7-6 campaign in which Trojan required a bowl bowl victory to scrape the previous .500. The winning path has never been so uncertain, either, how the championship roster is made completely with revenue sharing.

Despite that background, the relay seemed less challenging than the rest in the last summer. He says that he was not felt the chaos that some colleagues have described the disposal of the house. Some of them credited calm, they credited Chad Boden, the new general manager of the USC, and their handpick front office, who have taken the personnel to a large extent from the relay plate. Claiming immediately for the country’s No.1 recruitment class for 2026 is not hurt in the construction of that trust.

But this is more than that, according to the relay.

“Right now less improvements are going on, you know?” He said. “It’s as if you have built a house, and it is now about all the way. You are not trying to do a wall or anything like that.”

What is the USC really to debate close to being a finished product. The victory of Trojan has declined in each of the first three sessions of the relay, during which his record is worse than his predecessor Clay Hellet. Now enter their fourth position with a raw, unproven object in the Trojan Quarterback, an threadeber linebacker room, and an inexperienced aggressive line that can be below already an estimated starter.

The last season is also a matter of his fourth quarter issues, seeking that Trojans were unnecessarily coughing five of their six defeats.

But the relay sees it differently.

He said, “This is the first time we had an opportunity at the end of the game to win every game we played,” he said.

“In fact good teams are different in their many sports, and they win close games that they finish. It usually has it, and that is us to become. And the way to do it, so, every part of your program should be very strong.

“We have graduated from being behind in this field, and being very civilized in this field, such as everyone is either good or very good. Now it is about taking those small steps in all those areas, I think, hypotically pushed you on the hump.”

The biggest jump in that regard may once again be on defense, where the USC went for a respectable (56th) under D’Antone Lynn in 2023 (121st in defense).

It was not a small achievement, given where they came from. And Trojan has added considerable talent in his defense. Seven in front should benefit greatly from the return of linebacker Eric gentry and defensive end Anthony Lucas. And on the interior, the USC was brought into two large transfer on the interior, as well as a five -star freshman.

“I think that depth, talent level and size of the defensive line, I mean, 12 months ago there is no really comparison with honesty compared to this time,” the relay said.

But the path of Trojan will essentially, at some point, in its quarterback. Riley reiterated his confidence in Jayden Miyawa as a starter of Trojan, even praised the five -star freshman Hussain Hussain Longstreet.

Left Tackle Eliza Paige said on Thursday that she has seen a major change in Miawa as she had entered Offsen as a prescribed starter.

“He has taken a full 180,” Pagi said about the quarterback of the USC. “(In spring), he commanded the crime, and this team needs it.”

Of course, everyone is feeling optimistic at this time of the year, even before the USC Missouri is closed against the state before a month.

But the relay is not the only one that feels that the finishing touch is going on.

“We have gone and have received some best people in business,” Riley said. “They are not going to engage themselves with something where they do not see progress.

“And you don’t get such a recruitment class until there is a crazy amount within the program. Like, I don’t care what else you have. If you don’t have speed, you don’t get a class like we have.”
