The “CBS Mornings” co-manbon Gayle King and Opra Daily Creative Director Adam Glasman stepped into the spotlight, making Disney’s Broadway debut as a guest artist in “The Lion King”.
King The Bird appeared as Lady, while the Glassman played half of a rhino during the musical opening number in the minuscoff theater, is called “The Adventures of Adam and Gayle” as part of a special Opara Daily Segment. “The Lion King” has been running on Broadway since 1997 and Broadway is one of the longest running shows in history.
This experience proved to be more challenging than expected for both television personalities.
“I learned my lines, but now I didn’t realize that I was saying my lines,” King said.
The king accepted to struggle with the physical demands of demonstrations.
“I have to remember to keep my head up, and stop looking at his feet. There is a lot to remember,” he said.
The preparation was not without accidents. The king fell during the rehearsal while climbing the steps, which he said that he came into his head before the actual performance.
“The full face is going up from the plant steps,” the king remembered.
Glassman faced its challenges coordinating movements as half of a rhino dress.
“I was leaving when he was going right during the rehearsal. It was intense,” said Glasman.
Despite the initial veins, the two hosts stated that the actual performance is higher than their expectations.
“I was not nervous at all, and now I am liked,” Yikes, “the king said before taking the stage.
But later, the king’s tune changed.
“It was very fun. We did this, we did it, we did not fall. It was very funny. I am proud of us.”
King praised the Disney Production Team and Cast members, who helped them to prepare, keeping in mind the advice of 12 -year -old Albert Rhodes Junior, who play the role of young Simba, who told him that it was “good luck” to fall during rehearsals.
Glasmann said that the room was felt separate from rehearsal without audience or when the audience was near, staging vs.
“You feel emotion,” said Glasman. “The moment he starts singing and giraffe is … I was mesmerized.”
